Birthday Presents!

Hey there! So it's been super long since I've updated this thing. I've missed it so much! I was drowning in work and have finally (almost) climbed my way out of it! I really should be doing some right now in fact... Oh well! I'll get to it soon. My birthday was just about a week ago, and I got a a few very nice things from my boyfriend and my mum. My mum sent a little package from back home as she isn't here in England with me! Here's what my mum got me:

She sent me a few other bits and bobs like 2 tops, a few more rings and a pack of chips (I LOVE these 'chili chips' and can't get them here in England, how sweet of her haha).

And this is what my boyfriend got me:

GHD Midnight Deluxe Collection

If you read the very first wish list I blogged about, you'd know how much I wanted a GHD! But this, is beautiful beyond words. The case, the little mirror, even the hair clips! There are very few hair straighteners that give that shine to your hair after straightening, and actually make your hair look healthy rather than limp and lifeless. I really love this thing! I really can't thank my man enough. He was also sweet enough to get me the cutest, not to mention the perfect cake for me!:

Nom nom nom - Shoe cake!

All in all it was one of the best birthday's ever. I celebrated it 5 different times with 5 different groups of people I love the most! I didn't get to celebrate with my lovely family back home (they did celebrate my birthday without me. Weird family, I know.) I am so grateful for everything and I really couldn't ask for more.

I also wanted to show you guys a pair of shoes that my aunt got for me before I came back to England for my second year. I accidentally left them at home and only realized on the plane on my way back to England. Silly me, eh? My mum did send them with a friend who went home for Christmas holidays, and I finally got my hands on them after a few months of missing them terribly. Here they are:

She got them at H&M in Hong Kong last summer, so I doubt they are still available. I'm sure you can find a dupe, it's quite a common design. They are so comfortable to walk in and look so great with leggings!

So on a completely different note, did you guys manage to catch a glimpse of the 'Super Moon'? I could see it so clearly right from my window!

Super Moon
It was so beautiful! Nature at its best? It wasn't as big as I thought it would be, but still, what a sight. If you're interested, here is a link to some mind blowing shots that people around the world managed to take!

This post is turning out to be much longer than I thought. Oops.

If you're on Twitter, you know that #100factsaboutme is trending. It's so much fun to read about other people! If you're tweeting on this trend, let me know what your user name is, because I'd love to read! I also follow QueenOfBlending on Twitter, and she did this gorgeous green look that I would love to try:

Here is her tutorial on it!

I think greens are perfect for Spring. I'm really loving everything coral too. What is your favorite Spring trend? Let me know!

So this is it from me. Hope you're all having a great week.

Barry M Nail Effects

Hello peeps! So I recently purchased the Barry M Nail Effects at Boots and was really excited to play around with it. I decided to pair it up with Barry M's Mushroom, which is one of my favorite nail varnishes ever! I tried layering the Nail Effects over the entire nail but didn't like it as much as I thought it would; it just wasn't me. So then I tried covering half the nail with Nail Effects and I loved it! This is how it came out:

The Nail Effects is a matte finish, so if you're into a more glossy look, you can add a top coat to your nails. If you like the matte finish, don't add the top coat. It looks great that way too. I've added a top coat. You could also just add a top coat to the color varnish that you've used and leave the Nail Effects matte.

I'm very into pastel colors, especially nudes (mostly because they suit my skin tone the best), which is why I decided to use 'Mushroom'. Bright colors are not for me (with exceptions of course), and something that is overly glittery is definitely a no no. This design would look great with probably every color that's out there, so let your imagination run wild! I was a little skeptical about the shattered design at first, but that's when Barry M launched an affordable version so I figured I might as well try it. The design has been around for quite a while now, and do correct me if I'm wrong here, but this is the first one that has been introduced to High Street stores. I didn't want to spend lots on one of the expensive versions, like O.P.I's Black Shatter:

I tried looking for ideas over the internet to use this polish in different ways instead of just layering it over the entire nail. I didn't find anything at all! Anyway, I hope you like the look of it and will try it. If you have any ideas on how to use the Nail Effects in a different way other than layering the entire nail or half the nail with it, do let me know because I'd love to try it out!

Dark days.

Sooo I haven't had time to put up any new posts because I'm so busy it's unbelievable. I have so much work due in for university this month and it's really driving me crazy! I can't wait till I finish all the work I have left to start blogging again. Anyway, I thought I'd make this a little interesting: a friend of mine recently started her own youtube channel and is doing SO well! Kudos to you Nish! Anyway, she just hit 1000 subscribers and is having a giveaway:

It's really simple and you can win a MAC lipstick of your choice! Get in there!
Lent is also here! I don't usually follow it, but this time I thought I'd give it a try. I'm giving up chocolate. The next 40 days are going to be the worst 40 of my life! What are you giving up?
